GREEK CHALLENGE celebrates 4 years and a very successful 2009
On the occasion of the 4th anniversary of the inception of GC,
we celebrate a very successful 2009 and announce the creation of two bases in
Greece in order to further develop our team and prepare for the 34th AC.
2.3 million Euros will be invested for infrastructure development in two ports
within Greece in order to accept GREEK CHALLENGE and other AC teams. GREEK
CHALLENGE has already submitted plans to the Port Authorities and looking
forward to their positive response by the end of January 2010.
GREEK CHALLENGE was created in a circle of friends and associates and promised
that with the first chance would enter the pinnacle of sailing competition. In
2009 GC participated in LVPS, was mandated by the Greek Government to bring
sailing competitions to Greece, developed partnerships with established
institutions and has been considered a challenger with prominence, strength and
persistence, dedicated to bring Greece in the AC.
Our LVPS debut was welcomed globally as a very successful first step towards the
first ever participation of Greece in the AC. Following that, our sailors have
participated in a series of match racing events in Greece this past year. The
knowledge and knowhow that the GC team has poured into the sport is obvious and
the level of competition has been elevated.

opportunities for everyone that share the dream and willing to be part of the
most innovative project that Greek sports have ever encountered to date.
We wish you health happiness and prosperity and looking forward to an exciting
33rd AC with a new start for the 34th. GC within its capacity will try its
outmost to bring the sport of sailing in the household of global Hellenism and
continue a 5000 year old tradition of seafaring and maritime history.
